It’s Hornsby Council election day, so get on down to Berowra Public School, have your say, and treat yourself to a democracy sausage at the Apex BBQ!
The Berowra Apex team have hit the road in their “Blues Mobile”, driving across NSW and South Australia in the annual Trek4Kids rally to support the Starlight Foundation. You can follow their progress live and donate to to this worthy charity.
The 2017 Trek4Kidz is a week-long event, exploring different regional areas of the Australian countryside by car. Since its inception, the Trek has visited more than 400 towns, 45 schools and raised over $1,600,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. This year the trek will be starting off in Nowra and winding their way down the Murray River to Renmark in South Australia and finally ending back in Forbes.
HOW YOU CAN HELP If you want to help the Starlight Children’s Foundation, donate to the team now – 100% of donations will be given to Starlight.
A beautiful, warm most un-wintery day at the Wideview Public School “Winter Wonderland” fete. Rides, stalls, food and fun! Apex once again running the sausage sizzle.
Now in its 23rd year, Woodchop is an old style “fair” where the community joins together to enjoy the festival atmosphere, market stalls, amusement rides, food and wine tasting, live music and a world class round of the NSW Axemen’s competition.
Woodchop attracts thousands people, with many local schools, community groups and Hornsby Council being represented. All proceeds raised from Woodchop are returned to the community via Apex service programs and donations.
If you are interested in holding a stall, please submit an application form. The closing date for applications is Sunday 9th July 2017 – get in quick, as we had to turn stall holders away last year!
A big thank-you to all the families who joined us at Warrina oval for the annual Movie Under the Stars. Berowra residents came out in force to celebrate the end of school term and to make the evening a great success.
Movie Under the Stars is sponsored by Hornsby Council and organised by Berowra Apex who also provide the sausage sizzle and jumping castle. Berowra Guides supplied popcorn and copious cups of hot chocolate as families settled down to enjoy the Oscar winning film “Zootopia”. The rain stayed away and the stars did indeed come out!
You may have seen the “Blues Brothers” around on the night with their custom converted “Bluesmobile”. These are four Apex members who will be participating in this year’s Trek4Kidz, a cross-country charity rally in support of the Starlight Children’s Foundation. The money raised from Movie Under the Stars will be donated to this worthy cause. You can also show your support by making a donation to the team.
Apex are always looking for new members to help run events like Movie Under the Stars. We are a group of guys from around Berowra who want to help build a better, local community – if that sounds like something that interests you, get in touch with us.
