Apex was proud to help at this year’s Berowra Night Markets, along with the Lions, Rotary, Scouts, Guides and the Bush Telegraph. A very successful and enjoyable evening, with loads of stalls, food, entertainment, jumping castle and more.

You can’t beat a real Christmas tree, and this year Apex will again be selling them here in Berowra – see details below. All proceeds go back to the Berowra community and other charitable causes through various Apex initiatives. As a bonus, Santa will also be at Crossroads Reserve from around 6pm on the Friday after his run through the streets.

Santa’s sleigh will be visiting Berowra again this year. And for the first time you will be able to see his route and track his movements live on the Apex Santa Tracker website! Santa will make three runs through the streets (details below), giving everyone a chance to see him. There will be a BBQ and jumping castle at Warrina and Berowra oval after those events, with opportunities for photos with Santa. Christmas trees will  also be available for sale at Crossroads Reserve after the event on the 9th. Come and join in the fun!

The Apex crew were manning the BBQ at Berowra Public School Fete this weekend. After a rainy start to the day, the clouds cleared and a great day was had by all.

Berowra Woodchop Festival is will be 22 years old this year. As usual it will be held on the second Sunday in August – Sunday 14th August 2016 – and will again be located at the Berowra Village Tavern. Come and see world class wood chopping, market stalls, great food and try your luck on the chocolate wheel. All proceeds go to local community groups. If you are interested in holding a stall, the application form is now available – see below. Please note the closing date for applications is Sunday 19th June 2016. Don’t be late as we had to turn stall holders away last year!

Despite the drizzle this morning (and maybe a little more early this afternoon) we still plan to go ahead with this event. Hope to see you there.

Save the date! Movie under the Stars is coming yet again to Warrina Street Oval, Berowra on the last day of school term from 5pm onwards. What better way to celebrate the start of the school holidays! This free community event is bought to you by Berowra Apex with the support of Hornsby Council.

The family movie that will be showing is “Big Hero 6”. This Oscar winning animation spectacular, is about the special bond that develops between plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax, and prodigy Hiro Hamada, who team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech heroes.

Gates open at 5pm and the movie will start at 6.15pm. Berowra Apex will be running a sausage sizzle and there will be a jumping castle run by Berowra Venturer Scouts as well as popcorn and glow sticks for sale by Berowra Girl Guides.

This year we will be donating profits from the evening to support Graeme Gates, a local Berowra resident, who will be attempting an unsupported 520km trek across the Simpson Desert to raise money for Beyond Blue.
